Love Poems

Love · Devotion · Beauty

I didn’t write my first poem until I was 38 — and when the words finally came, most of them were about love. These poems are written plain and from the heart, by a man who found love later than most and holds it tighter because of it.

ROMANTICISM

Anonymous light,
Profess my way,
Flood this anchored heart,
swallow sweet dreams in waves.

Opening romantic gates,
Oh, sweet heaven, delay upon this earth my stay.
Thus, love presumes death near,
Departing from such beauty that lies beneath the
grounds of saving May.

Sedatives aromatic swiftly weaken,
Ensuing endeavors stepping on puddled tears,
Breathing messages within a heart that speaks true to
itself,
hears the voice of love on this acquired day.

Columns dignify beautifully,
Orbiting blessings around such love,
Appearing within and around my soul,
decaying ends, ending delays.

BEYOND LOVE

Unfolding aftermath of your universal praise,
Beauty holds itself in all its glory,
deeming possibilities seamlessly perfect.

Possessing the absolute existence
Of my hands, in awe,
Holding up the stars,
Further beyond space.

Tributing my life, discovering love
Never before defined,
Blowing cosmic particles of dust
Into dreams,
lifting me higher than God has the power to raise.

Orchestrating my surrendering
Ingrained in the silence of that
I can only fathom,

Transitioning and transforming love
I have for you
In phases of being amazed.

HONEY

Mellifluous palm of mightier time,
How honey smears of gold brilliance,
Spiraling confusion artistically,
Amidst the combs of a beauteous mind.

Outlining maiden's heart,
withdrawing breath virtuously unfair.
Selfish seeks fairness's shine,
if I, to die, should I care?

Forfeitures are worthwhile,
Devising such love, mine.
My pen's pleasure, pleasing today,
For tomorrow bleeds sweetness.

Unwritten yet to be,
revealing poetic predestined lines.
