Poems About Heartbreak

Loss · Longing · Goodbye

I’ve learned to say goodbye on paper so I could survive it in real life. These are the parting poems — written where the heart beats fastest, when love is neglected, when the flowers are gathered, and when all that’s left to ask is: remember me.

GOODBYE

Somberness bids love adieu,
If much is neglected,
Then, oh, brightest Iris is subdued,
There, the heart beats fastest,
Till dandelions bleed blue.

How overwhelming beauty is blissful,
Fracturing dawned essence anew,
Surfacing landscapes landing in sunrise's eye.

So, furthered emotions arise,
Taking winds adrift.
But singing birds stay,
Dancing nights of love away.

I'll whine less when kisses uplift this breeze, feeling free.
My greatest honorary purpose
Is beauty.
Contentment is all I'll ever need because of you; my life
is fulfilled.

Nothing more begs, if all else is real.
So, pardon me unexpectedly,
Such pleasures were all mine, graceful sky.

Now, I must fly,
Dreadful wings wave goodbye, goodbye, goodbye,
goodbye…

REMEMBER ME

Gather the flowers,
As if petals of youth, yet fully bloomed,
Tilting departed hearts aside,
From this moment's notice,
I have lived today,
Loving you,
Until tomorrow's unsparing doom.

Please, infringe fretting yearns,
And gardens wilting dry,
Remember me,
As if you never cried,
My love, for I have loved you so, even after death.

But if true love never dies,
Well, then I will wave this light,
Willfully, willingly love shines,
Forgiving unwavering sky.

This injured heart breaks,
From earliest dawn,
Just to see beauty once again,
As mine.

FAREWELL

Verged murmurs,
Written well.
Tongue's tenderness stems timeless pillars,
Implanting foundations.
Settling love, pollinators' sweetest smell.
Viewed blessing feeds appetite,
Secrets' aroma dare not tell.

Skies blink then go blind,
Heaven's door knocking,
As if you shall find
Dwellings of her.
Heaven sent from which you fell,
Wishing autumn from winter's breeze,
Praises of today, of morrow's bent knees.

Commitment bleeds youthful spirit,
Beckoning to be loved,
Requesting chances to be noticed,
Before love bids my beloved farewell.
