Daniel Paez is a San Antonio, Texas poet and the author of A Poet’s Destiny. He was born in Corsicana, Texas in 1981 and raised in San Antonio — and San Antonio is where the poems come from.
His Story
Daniel didn’t write his first poem until he was 38 years old. When he started, he wrote at his kitchen table — a table his father had refinished for him because he couldn’t afford one of his own. The words have not stopped since: 1,900 poems in seven years, and counting.
The poems return again and again to the same ground: faith, family, fatherhood, and love. They are testimony more than performance — written by a working man, a father, and a believer who met God in the middle of ordinary life.
Daniel is listed on the City of San Antonio Artist Registry (Literary Arts). His poem “A Life Given” is forthcoming in Yanaguana Literary Review, San Antonio’s literary journal, in its Spring/Summer 2027 issue, “Cosmic Conversations.” When he isn’t writing, he runs Wash Our Work LLC, the San Antonio cleaning business he built himself — the same hands that scrub floors all day come home and pick up the pen at night.
